Ahh, I remember when I started up this site last summer how hot it was and how I daydreamed about the cold winds of autumn/winter. Alas, I don't have to daydream any longer. We are experiencing the coldest winter in Alabama since 1985, so says James Spann the Weatherman. This reminds me of winters from my childhood when the pond behind my house would freeze over and I could walk out on it (NOT recommended, I might add). But as most hunters know, the colder the weather the hotter the hunting action, especially during the rut. We usually have cold snaps down here that only usually last a day or two before it warms up into the 60's and even 70's. Not the case this year. It is consistently staying in the 30's and 40's for highs and 20's and teen's for lows. I wish every winter was like this. But that's just the hunter in me.
